When we started thinking about our Meeting to Make America Work! a few months ago, we thought gathering 1,000 citizens in New York City would make a statement. But even we didn’t anticipate this level of interest — now 1,300 people have already reserved their seats and more RSVPs are rolling in every day.

We can’t turn people away, so we are happy to announce that we have changed locations in order to accommodate our incredible number of registrants. That’s right — now over 1,300 citizens will be gathering at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square to demand leadership and common-sense solutions from our elected officials in Washington.

What’s more, citizens continue to sign up every day. It’s not too late – you can still join the movement to put practical problem solving ahead of political point scoring.

35 years ago today, actress Emmanuelle Chriqui, best known for her roles in Entourage and The Mentalist, was born. 35 years from now, we will almost be celebrating the end of the year 2050. 35 days ago today, candidates were appealing for our vote one last time on the Monday before Election Day. And just 35 days from today, we’ll be making history of our own in New York City for the No Labels Meeting to Make America Work!

We’re still waiting for our leaders to pick up the mantle of leadership that they promised us 35 days ago on the eve of the election. But in 35 days, we have a chance to demand that they stand up and work across the aisle to end the politics of point-scoring in favor of a new politics of problem solving. At the Meeting to Make America Work!, we will hear from members of Congress and thought leaders from across the country to learn how they are helping to bring solutions back to Washington. We wanted to take a minute to share a story with you about someone who is determined to join us on January 14 in New York for the Meeting to Make America Work!.

No Labels Citizen Leader and Stanford student Sean Valle is committed to traveling across the country from California to be at the meeting. If he isn’t able to raise the funds in the next few weeks, he’ll forego holiday gifts and instead ask for relatives to chip in to send him across the country for the chance to ask our leaders to stop fighting and start fixing. He is also recruiting a group of his friends to join him at the meeting and in his quest to help end the hyper-partisan gridlock in Washington.

Here at No Labels, we are inspired by Sean’s commitment to changing the way D.C. does business and we hope you are too.
